Cellucor Affiliate Position and Updates

Updates: It’s been a while since I have updated this, but I figured this may be a good way to keep everyone in the loop.  I’ll keep try to update my blog more frequently – But I’ll keep this post relatively short.

Competition: As most of you know, I am currently prepping for a Natural Bodybuilding show in September, and I’ve got another 6 to 7 weeks to really dial in.  This will be my first ever competition and I have been dieting since April now.  It’s been long and definitely challenging, but it’s something I have wanted to do for a couple of years now.  I post most of my progress pictures and dieting information on my Instagram (@AdamNeth), but I will hopefully be expanding on that in the future on this blog.  I am an advocate of “If It Fits Your Macros” or “Flexible Dieting” – I’ve been using this method for well over a year now and I can honestly say that it makes dieting much easier.  I don’t really have the desire for absurd binges and out of control eating.  Since I can eat unlimited types of foods, I am not deprived of anything. I’ll be making a post about this in the near future.

Cellucor Affiliate Position: As most of you know, I have been a strong supporter of Cellucor products for many years.  I was there with Cellucor with the launch of C4 Extreme which took the pre-workout game to another level.  The first reviews done on this blog were actually about C4 Extreme and other Cellucor Products.  I was fortunate enough to have been selected as a Cellucor Affiliate. With this position, I have been given a code that allows anyone to get 20% OFF of their entire purchase.  If you would like to try a Cellucor product, click on the hyperlink and use the discount code “Neth” at the checkout for 20% OFF.  Be sure to follow me on Instagram (@AdamNeth), as I will be posting recipes with their new whey formulas.  I recently ordered some Red Velvet Cake Batter and Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, so stay tuned and I will be sure to do reviews of those.  I do a lot of recipes – such as waffles, pancakes, muffins, cookies, etc. and I really enjoy using whey protein.  I’ll be sure to let you guys know how the new flavors are.

T-Shirts: I have decided to run a line of each design for the t-shirts, since the opinions were split nearly 50/50. They will be coming very soon.  I am headed to the company this weekend to discuss prices and trying to get the best deal and hopefully lower the costs for you guys.  I believe the shirts will be light grey with black and red ink, but I will also discuss colors with the company.  Thanks for taking the time to read this post, guys.  I appreciate all of your support – it really helps keep me going and keep me on track.  I cannot thank you guys enough for the kind words.  Once again, I will be making more posts on this blog and really utilizing the ability to expand on information to help you guys with your fitness goals and keep you updated with mine.

MyOatmeal Review

COOKIE MONSTER OATS

Hey guys, it’s been a while since my last blog. I’ve been busy with schooling and working. But I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try MyOatmeal and review three different flavors. I’ll be reviewing each of these right here on my blog. You have the option of ordering small bags (1lb), medium bags (2.25 lbs), and jumbo bags (4 lbs). Without further ado, let’s get started with the review of my first oatmeal.

If you’re like me, then oatmeal is a staple in your diet – being a complex carbohydrate.  After a while, some of the combinations of flavors like honey, peanut butter, cinnamon, etc. get old and boring.  I heard about MyOatmeal which is a company that allows you to create and customize your own flavors.  There’s over 22 billion different combinations at Myoatmeal.com.  I’ll go through and list the different categories and the options that I chose!

Image

Choose Your Oats:
You can pick different types of oats as follows…

Quick Rolled Instant Oats  +$2.99
5 Grain Rolled Oats & Flax  +$3.99
Steel Cut Whole Oats  +$3.99
Signature Smash Blend  +$3.99
Gluten Free Quick Oats  +$4.99
Organic, Gluten Free, Thick Rolled Oats  +$5.99

I picked the Quick Rolled Instant Oats since I like to eat my oatmeal in the morning when I am restricted on time.  I like to just microwave my oatmeal, since it’s easier clean up and the process is much more simple.  The oats themselves taste delicious, and are the smaller oats which I prefer.  Of course if you have any intolerance to gluten or just want the organic, steel cut, oats, then that option is also offered!

Time for Some Flavor!
You can add up to three different flavors, each costing $1.50.  There are a large amount of flavors that you can add – about 40 different flavors!

With this bag of oats, I decided to choose Cookie Dough, Sugar Cookie, and Snickerdoodle flavoring. Let’s just say I was NOT disappointed by this whatsoever. . Also, check out the crazy selection of flavors by visiting the website, www.myoatmeal.com.

The flavorings that I choose were AMAZING.  Honestly, I normally have to basically choke down my oatmeal with honey or peanut butter. But after I smelled my Cookie Monster Oats after they finished cooking, I knew it was love at first smell! But in all seriousness, I ate 80 grams (2 servings) of these oats and I instantly craved more.  It literally tasted like I had mixed together some cookie dough and was about it cook it – but it made me feel like I was eating sugar cookie dough.  Definitely not disappointed with the flavorings at all.  Also, I forced my mother to try the oats (who doesn’t normally like oatmeal at all) and was impressed by the flavoring and even asked for more.  The Cookie Monster Oats are even mother approved.

Pick Your Fruits:
After picking the flavors, you want to pick the fruits that you want in your customized oatmeal.  I’ll give you a range of what they offer (if you want to see the full list, just like the flavors, please visit the myoatmeal.com website).  They offer apples to banana chips, currants to figs, mangos to blue berries, and even more.  Keep in mind that the fruit you pick also has options of the amount put into your oatmeal mix – light, regular, and heavy.  I chose the blueberries and put them in as light dosing.  I was surprised when I opened my bag and saw that I had a large amount in there – so there are not stingy on dosing!  Next time, I’m going to do the heavy dosing since I know that they are fair when it comes to the fruits.

Let’s Sweeten the Deal!
This is recommended if you added the flavoring, options are – Brown Cane Sugar, White Cane Juice Crystals, or Sucralose.  I picked the White Can Juice Crystals, and it really makes the oatmeal taste sweet.  It was a fantastic combination with the cookie flavorings that I had picked.  When I first got the bag, I just had to shake it up a bit  for the flavorings and the white cane juice crystals to thoroughly mix, but the oatmeal probably settled during shipment.  And regardless, that isn’t an issue.

Nuts, Seeds & More
This gives you the option to add in any type of nuts and seeds.  There’s many different options for single options. For example, you can get flax seeds ground up or whole flax seeds. For this option, I picked hemp seeds and quinoa flakes.  Both being extremely beneficial in micronutrients and healthy for a wide range of reasons.

Image

Overall, I would give the Cookie Monster Oats a huge thumbs up! I enjoyed a cup of healthy oatmeal, feeling like I was eating cookie dough. Myoatmeal is going to be extremely helpful this winter when I am trying to bulk. I wasn’t even full after my cup of oatmeal since it was so delicious, and craved more.  Just so you guys know, there is also a full nutrition panel on the back of your customized oatmeal.  For the guys out there who track their macros, do flexible dieting or IIFYM, then this can be great for you.  You can create a customized oatmeal that fits your certain guidelines when it comes to macronutrients.  I absolutely love this brand and I certainly am excited to have the opportunity to work with them! You can also have certain bags shipped out more than once, so you can pick to have it shipped once a week, twice a month, and so on. A huge shout out to http://www.MyOatmeal.com and please go check them out and try a bag!  I’m going to be utilizing this simple yet effective way to consume my oatmeal from now on.  Thanks for listening guys!

NO2 RED by MRI

20120821-145104.jpg

After trying out NO2 Black, I had to get my hands on the newest version of MRI’s Nitric Oxide supplement: NO2 Red. Here’s an overview of how I would take NO2 Red:
– As directed on the bottle, I would take 3 caplets roughly 30 minutes before I consumed my breakfast. As with NO2 Black, I felt an almost immediate pump and fullness in my muscles. Then it states if you want to “super charge” your N.O. experience, then take 2 more caplets mid-afternoon. I feel that taking NO2 Red before a meal, allows the nutrients to be absorbed and fully distributed to your muscles due to the vascularity and blood flowing at a much higher rate. I suggest taking the “super charge”, allowing the body to utilize the powerful ingredients throughout the day.

-THE INGREDIENTS in NO2 Red are much more potent than any other NO2 product I have ever tried. Not only does it have essential vitamins (A, C, K1, K2, D3, B6, B9, B12, etc), it also contains a large amount of N.O. boosters than no other supplement contains! In the “Advanced 5x NO Booster Complex” it features 5 different types of Arginine. Not only does this product contain Arginine but in the “Myocarn Power Complex” it contains L-Glycine, Citrulline Malate, N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl, Glutamine, Beta-Alanine, and L-Histidine.

-NO2 RED is perfect for getting those maximum pumps, facilitating power, AND increasing recovery. Increasing your vascularity will promote blood flow, which will bring more oxygen and nutrients into the muscles; thus, allows for maximum muscle growth and muscle recovery. I will always keep an NO2 product from MRI in my supplementation, there’s no doubt about that.

Black Powder by MRI

BLACK POWDER

MRI created the first pre-workout to employ the whey “peptide fraction” called the ACTINOS2IR. IR stands for “instant release” of Nitric Oxide and rapid uptake of N.0. levels in the body. After about 15 minutes of my first dosing of Black Powder, I felt in “instant release” of Nitric Oxide and my vascularity started to rise even before my training session began. Black Powder has everything you could want in a pre workout and many more. Check out Black Powder’s profile below:

<img src="https://completecontraction.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/20120720-182348.jpg" alt="20120720-182348.jpg" class="alignnone size-full"

Flavor and Taste – 8/10: I had purchased the Fruit Explosion flavor, since I know you can’t go wrong with fruit punch! After a few of my close friends saw what I was taking, they had actually purchased Black Powder in Blue Raspberry and Orange Burst and we all had exchanged flavors. Let me say that you CANNOT go wrong with any flavor of Black Powder! I personally prefer the Orange Burst, but they were all outstanding compared to other pre-workouts on the market.

Mixability – 9/10: Black Powder mixes perfectly in my opinion. There were absolutely no clumps, which was fairly surprising for the large serving size. When mixed there was a slight carbonation, which I actually look for in a pre-workout and makes me feel like my body has a quicker uptake of the nutrients and supplements.

Energy and Focus – 8.5/10: This is what really matters when it comes to my choice of pre-workout; what separates the winners from the losers. What I absolutely love about MRI’s Black Powder is that this product is not full of junk and fillers like other pre-workouts. Every single ingredient included on the nutrition panel can be dissected, broken down, and you can find purpose for it being included in the mix. I found that Black Powder has a great blend of useful ingredients in promoting strength, endurance, focus, energy, recovery, and size gains. Most pre-workouts rely on a strong dosage of stimulants, which leave you with a bitter crash later on in the day. Black Powder is precisely measured in potency and I found that it had the perfect blend of caffeine and stimulants, so that later on in your day you don’t feel an instant crash or jitters during your workout.

Overall – 8.5/10: I definitely would recommend this pre-workout to anyone wanting to get that extra edge and focus on their workout. It seemed to me that this pre-workout will become a new staple in my supplementation!

Keep a look out for new blog posts regarding NO2 RED, RED REPAIR, and HEMO SURGE! I just purchased these supplements today and I will be adding them to my stack tomorrow! NO2 Black by MRI

20120704-102906.jpg

NO2 BLACK

The second product I tried by MRI was NO2 Black, which is a nitric oxide supplement. I was absolutely blown away by the immediate and intense effects. Let’s start off by taking a look at the profile:
-3 GRAMS of Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG) – A-AKG is actually a form of salt created when combining two molecules of the amino acid ARGININE and one molecule of ALPHA-KETOGLURATE.
-150 MG Proprietary Blend of:
– ALPHA LIPOIC ACID – This is an antioxidant that actually helps convert glucose into energy
– ACTINOS2 WHEY PEPTIDE FRACTION – An instant rise in nitric oxide levels will occur

On the directions, it says take 4 pills about 30 minutes before breakfast and 4 pills 30 minutes before lunch (the amount you take varies depending on gender and weight). After my first dosage, I literally felt an instant fullness in my muscles. I felt my shirt literally get tighter. Even after my first dosage, I was HOOKED to say the least. It’s unbelieveable to think I had a pump within 30 minutes, but I know exactly what I had seen and felt.

I had tried one other NO2 pill form product, which was NITRIX, and in my honest opinion I don’t think NITRIX compares at all to NO2 BLACK. My vascularity in the gym was insane, beyond what I thought my body was capable of. Not only was my nitric oxide levels high during my workout, but also during the rest of the day, my vascularity remained above average. I was so thrilled with this product that I even went out and bought a 300 capsule bottle.

Overall, I would give this product a 9/10. It has no comparison in my opinion of effectiveness. BOTTOM LINE, if you are looking for a NITRIC OXIDE supplement, you should definitely look into buying NO2 BLACK. MRI has NO2 RED now, which is an installment of their RED line products. After I finish my 300 capsule bottle, I am going to go for the RED line products, and I will be reviewing those as soon as I can! Anabolic Switch by MRI

20120620-102955.jpg

BASIC OVERVIEW:
I had purchased a tub of Anabolic Switch by MRI. Here’s a basic overview of Anabolic Switch in one serving (3 scoops):
– 6 grams of 7 different types of creatine
– 4 grams of 8 different amino acids
– taurine, CarnoSyn® beta alanine, and AAKG
BY MY opinion, the profile looked completely solid and extremely promising to big gains. It instructs the individual to take 1 serving before your workout, and then one serving after your workout. On OFF days, it recommends you drink 1 serving in the morning and 1 serving twelve hours later. Now, let’s get to the good stuff.

TASTE: 8.5/10
– The flavor I had received was Fruit Punch, which is an overused flavor in the supplement industry. Needless to say, this fruit punch DID NOT disappoint me in any way. It had a slight carbonation feeling to it, which definitely brought out a distinct flavor. I almost can relate Anabolic Switch’s flavor with fruit punch gatorade mixed with crushed up sweet tarts. I looked forward to slamming back Anabolic Switch before and after a workout.

MIXABILITY: 8/10
– With the large amounts of creatine in Anabolic Switch, I was blown away by how consistent the mixability was. It wasn’t a very grainy mixture at all, definite “props” to MRI for accomplishing a smoothe blend with 6 grams of creatine. The only issue I had was the foam. The foam sits at the top of the drink, but once you chug it, the foam will end up on the bottom of the bottle. This isn’t a big issue at all, just throw in another 5 ounces of water and shake it up again. Problem solved – and trust me, it’s worth it.

RESULTS: 9/10
This is the part that actually matters for those goal oriented individuals. First off, make sure you’re drinking well over a gallon of water a day. Taking in 12 grams of creatine is pretty heavy, so be careful with that aspect. After about 4 days, I had saw some pretty solid gains starting to take place. All of my compound movements such as bench press, dips, squats, deadlifts, and others had shot up 5-15 lbs (depending on the lift). Not only did my lifts increase pretty dramatically in a short time, my recovery period had shortened! I was beginning to feel mildly sore, and that’s after hitting new personal bests on compound movements. I had noticed my weight fluctuated from 179-184, which is typically waterweight. But pushing more weight will yield bigger results. If you are looking to pack on some SIZE, STRENGTH, and shorten RECOVERY periods, then I definitely recommend Anabolic Switch by MRI!

MRI: I have also purchased NO2 Black 180 Capsules, and Black Powder (Fruit Punch). I will be reviewing NO2 Black when I finish the bottle in a week. Get ready for this one…First time I’ve ever tried an NO2 Capsule product and I’ve been blown away. Black Powder will be reviewed after I finish the 40 serving pre-workout tub. All About Protein

20120318-174605.jpg

BASICS

Protein should be a major staple in your diet if you are looking to build muscle, but protein has many other major benefits. Proteins actually make up every cell, tissue, and organ in your body. Protein will help your body develop the nails, skin, hair, muscles, tendons, etc. You NEED protein in your diet, regardless whether you lift weights or not. Quality protein sources contain amino acids, which are the building blocks of the proteins and when digested help replace the proteins within our body. Protein synthesis takes about 48-72 hours to complete, so in a perfect world you would only need 2-3 days to recover entirely for that muscle group. But since our bodies are faced with less than perfect stimulii, I would suggest a longer recover period. Now, let’s get into the different types of proteins!

TYPES OF PROTEIN

Red Meat: Steak, hamburgers, pork, and lamb, etc. Red meats tend to be much more fatty cuts of meat, but contain large amounts of nutrients for muscle building. First off, it’s a complete protein, meaning it contains all of the nine essential amino acids. Secondly, it naturally contains large amounts of creatine. Creatine is known for it’s strength gains, ATP replenishing, reduce recovery time, etc. Red meat also contains Iron, B12, Phosphorus, Omega-3, and Zinc. All of these are essential for heart health, recovery, and metabolism. Red meat is a slower digesting protein, perfect for a dinner or before bed meal.

White Meats: Chicken, turkey, different types of fish, shrimp, etc. White meats like chicken, turkey, and fish are a lot less fatty compared to red meats. When trying to lean out, I would suggest sticking to these basic protein sources. These are also classified as a complete protein. Chicken and turkey both contain about 20-26 grams of protein for 3.5-4 oz. Turkey is a lot dryer than chicken, but turkey is more bioavailable to our bodies, meaning we can digest it and absorb the protein and nutrients at a better rate. Depending on the type of fish you get, you’ll be getting great amounts of omega’s along with a little quicker digesting proteins. Take salmon for example, it has about 14 grams of fat for 4 oz. but don’t get this confused with other fats. These are the GOOD fats, the essentials!

Whey Protein: Whey protein is an essential when it comes to gaining muscle. There’s so much out there it is hard for people to decide on what is considered “good”. Whey isolates and hydrolyzed whey isolates are top notch in today’s studies since they are in whey’s purest form, so you definitely want them to be first on your ingredients list. After you are asleep for about 8 hours, you need to get your body’s metabolism kickin’ again. First thing you do in the morning is slam back a whey protein shake and your body will digest it within 40 minutes, breaking the overnight catabolic fast. This will kickstart your anabolism throughout the day. After your workout, your muscles are like dry sponges, begging to have some liquid poured over them. This is also a good time for whey protein; you want the quickest form of protein to digest and quickly begin the repairing process. I’ll talk about Casein protein here too; which is a slower digesting protein that takes about 6-8 hours to fully digest. Perfect for a nighttime snack, helping keep you anabolic throughout the night. When I took casein, I would wake up and actually not feel like devouring a house.

Nuts: Almonds, peanuts, cashews, etc. These are great sources for a snack or to supplement a meal to accomodate your macronutrients. I usually eat almonds, which give me around 8-10 extra grams of protein, but also a great amount of healthy fats. The profile for healthy fats in almonds is just a little bit better than peanuts, but like I said, try to switch your sources up.

How much protein should you consume?

This is commonly asked question throughout the fitness world. Let’s say you weigh 180 pounds. Some studiest suggest you eat .7 x 180. But then I have also seen studiest that you can absorb up to 1.7 x 180. For me, I just try to eat my around own bodyweight in grams of protein. If I want to gain weight, I try to eat up to 20 more grams than I weigh. So if I weigh 180 lbs, I’ll be aiming for 200 grams. Studies suggest that you body will utilize any amounts of protein that you throw down the hatch; but also take into account that you need to space your protein consumption out throughout the day. Hopefully everything that I have told you will help you know when to eat certain sources of proteins during the day. Also, to keep your body full of nutrients and to keep it guessing, you’ll want to utilize as many of these protein sources as possible. If you don’t follow me on twitter yet, please give me a follow @AdamNeth. Thanks! Any email opportunities, email me at AdamNeth@rocketmail.com. Thanks for reading.

Cellucor M5 Extreme 2 in 1

20111228-140626.jpg

CELLCUOR M5 EXTREME: 2 IN 1

I was lucky enough to receive Cellucor’s 2 in 1 M5 Extreme. This is definitely a step up from Cellucor’s C4 Extreme; since M5 contains the creatine matrix. The top part of the container is the “Ignite” which has an extremely small scoop and contains the energy blend. The bottom part of the container is the “Build” which contains the creatine matrix and other muscle/strength building ingredients.

FLAVOR – 8/10: I had the Cherry Limeade flavor, which definitely tasted amazing. But when comparing it to C4, I didn’t like it nearly as much. In my opinion, M5 tops most of the other leading pre workouts – which is all that matters. The mixibility of M5 is pretty consistent, even with 5 grams of creatine in it. Overall, I look forward to chugging M5 before

ENERGY – 9/10: I felt the same kind of rush that I feel with C4. My energy is always soaring with Cellucor products, and the great thing about M5 is that I had NO CRASH. That’s the thing with the other pre workouts on the market, they overload with caffeine which causes you to crash later on after your workout. Personally, I haven’t experienced a crash yet.

RESULTS – 10/10: Getting to the part that actually matters, I would have to recommend M5 to anyone who wishes to increase strength and size. All of my lifts have sky rocketed, and I have broke barriers that I have been stuck at for months. My bench press increased by 20 pounds. My hang clean shot up to 275 lbs x 3. My squat shot up by at least 10 pounds, while increasing my reps. This has only been two weeks I have been on this; there is something to be said about the creatine matrix in M5. I have been blown away and will continue to use this as my number one pre workout while using creatine.

Check out Cellucor.com and follow them on twitter @Cellucor. Also follow me if you don’t already! @AdamNeth

EnergyCare USA Products

20111204-145525.jpg

Lucky enough, I received an EnergyCare USA bracelet and an EnergyCare USA dream pillow. In this blog post, I will be reviewing the EnergyCare USA bracelet, and saving the dream pillow for the next review. First off, I had a small size ordered for me which should fit a 6 1/2 inch wrist (which is what I have), but if you are on the borderline like I am, then go for the size higher. It fits very snug, I don’t have an issue with it, but some people might.

ENERGY – You should not be expecting a sufficient energy boost or anything along those lines just by wearing this bracelet. I just want to say this: since I have been weight training with this bracelet, ALL of my lifts have continuously gone up. I don’t know if this is just a coincidence, or my strength, flexibility, energy actually has been increased. There is no research to back up any of the claims made by EnergyCare USA, but they are currently conducting research in USA and Brazil. Either way, whether I am being affected by the placebo effect or if the science behind this really does exist, it’s definitiely worth it.

SLEEP – This is what has made me a true believer. I sleep SOLID, and continuously throughout the entire night. I dream like crazy, vivid dreams. It’s almost like a second life now. The biggest thing is that I can get six hours of sleep and feel like I’m ready to go at any time. Once again, since there is no research backing it up, I have a notion that it could all be in my head (placebo effect), but regardless, if a placebo effect will allow you to sleep this DEEP, then I think it’s really worth the money. Absolutely blew me away the first couple of nights of solid sleep.

Overall, the EnergyCare USA bracelet is definitely worth what they are asking for it. Plus it looks cool right? Probably one of the coolest bracelets out there. They do offer more colors than just the white one I have shown you. Also, the white one is starting to discolor sadly – pick a color that won’t fade and discolor! Everyone always asks me where they can get one. ENERGYCAREUSA.COM. Any questions, feel free to email me at adamneth@rocketmail.com or follow me on twitter @adamneth. Thanks for reading!
